A certified Pilate's instructor, Mita was introduced to the Egoscue Method several years ago after reading Pain Free by Pete Egoscue. Immediately recognizing the impact of the philosophy in helping to reduce clients' pain, she studied The Method with the intention of healing herself as well as creating a first-class clinic. She is a certified Advanced Exercise Therapist through the Egoscue Institute.
When researching The Method, Brittany fell in love with getting people out of pain and improving their quality of life. As a Postural Alignment Specialist helping clients on a daily basis, she assisted in the opening of Egoscue Newport Beach in 2013.
While dancing professionally, Alex began to take Pilates to cross train and help prevent injuries. She became certified through Peak Pilates in 2013 and from there learned more about the fitness industry, including TRX, barre, and weight training. Through fate, she found The Egoscue Method, and it immediately changed the way she viewed her clients' symptoms. She became an instant believer in The Method and is passionate about seeing her clients grow in strength and understanding of their bodies.
Sandy joined Egoscue of Newport Beach after 35 years as a dental assistant and office manager. Sandy's amazement with what The Egoscue Method can achieve stems from her first-hand observation of her husband's experience getting therapy at Egoscue after hip replacement surgery.
After years of compiling a list of injuries, from traumatically broken legs to torn rotator cuffs to whiplash to a total hip replacement, I assumed some level of discomfort was natural. What a fantastic surprise to find I can feel better. I followed a variety of menus for about six months and now seldom have any pain at all, despite participating in a sport that punishes mistakes and maintaining a demanding workout and life schedule. I feel taller, straighter, and more limber. Without changing anything else in my exercise routine, I feel my walking stride is longer. I run up the stairs and skip down them. Even mundane chores are more enjoyable when one feels good!
Eat, sleep, and Egoscue are the three things I've done every day for the past six months. I looked into Egosque after trying most everything else for back pain. I've always been active and not being able to do the things I love took its toll, physically and mentally. A surgeon told me to have a bulging disc removed and the vertebrae fused. When I asked about being pain free, he replied, “It's a coin flip." I pushed on to other avenues. While I can't say Egoscue has gotten me to be pain free yet, I am so much more self-aware of my movement, posture, and body position. My pain is very manageable now.
