I'm wondering how many minutes are the sessions. I would be unable to purchase a package deal due to the fact that I survive on a non-profit salary but I would be very interested in a single session, that would align more with my budget :). I live in South Santa Clara County, that is why I want to know how many minutes is a single session since it would be quite a drive for me. Unless you guys make trips to either San Mateo County or North Santa Clara County Cities.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Louisa

Hi, I am 60 years old and have told I will need a hip replacement within the year. I have been doing the hip stretches with some success. I also started doing yoga on a regular basis which is also helping. I am too young for a hip replacement. I love to hike and ride my bike, but do not have the opportunity to do it daily. I do not want to have the hip replacement. I live in northern Michigan so my options are limited. Any help would be appreciated.

What qualifications do your therapists and franchise owners have to help people reduce chronic pain?
Reply | Reply with quote | Quote
# John 2016-03-16 15:02
John,
All of our therapists are trained through Egoscue University. Many of them have some sort of exercise science, kinesiology, etc. degree, but some don't. Pete Egoscue was actually a Political Science major. I was a history major, but came as a client 20+ years ago.

Let me know if you'd like me to connect you with your closest clinic.

Thanks,
John

Hi,
I don't live near one of your clinics (the closest one is about an hour away) and I was wondering if it is possible to pay for a package that combines in-clinic visits with Skype/facetime sessions?
Also, are online therapy sessions via email as beneficial as Skype/facetime sessions? What is the difference?
Thank You

# John 2016-03-29 16:18
Regina,
YES, you can use one package for either in-person or Skype visits. As for the Online sessions, I believe our best form of therapy is the face-to-face option (either Skype or in-clinic). With the Online menus, we analyze your photos, get some symptom details from you, and send you a menu. With the Skype/In-clinic option, it's MUCH more interactive, and we're able to make changes on the fly and adjust in the moment.

Email me at , and I'll introduce you to your closest clinic.

Thanks,
John

Hi, a year ago I was in hospital, unabvle to walk as both legs/hips were affected by herniated discs lumbar 345. I have improved but still felt weak in my back. I have started using a youtube video of 45mionutes each day...ecosgue ex for lower back and I have started playing golf agin. However my right foot 'flops' outwards given the chance and I have a marked difference in sides with exercises like hip crossover stretch and upper spinal floor twist. I also have continuing pain in my right hip after walking any distance.Does this sound like a postural condition that could be rectified by your sessions? how long does a session last?
Reply | Reply with quote | Quote
# John 2016-03-29 16:21
Hey Jan,
Great question, and the answer is "yes," we can help. We work with clients on a daily basis who have your condition. The foot splaying out to the side is a hip issue at its root. Sessions typically last 60-90 minutes and can be done either in-clinic or via Skype/FaceTime.

Email me at , and I'll give you more details.

Thanks,
John

I have severe arthritis in left hip, and over the last 6 years have developed a 2 1/2" difference in leg lengths. I did Egoscue with a woman in Ann Arbor 4 years ago, and have done Applied Kinesiology to turn muscles back on recently, and do not want to have hip replacement. Can you help me at this point, with a leg that is much shorter? I am 61, and want to be active again!!

Carole,
Thanks for commenting. Without seeing you, we wouldn't be able to say whether we'd be able to help you. However, even if you end up having surgery, doing Egoscue prior to it will be of great benefit.

Email me at , and I'll connect you with a therapist who can take a look at you.

Thanks,
John

Hi there, I'm in Sydney Australia and interested in getting treatment for my wife who has a herniated disc. I'm wondering what is the difference between the therapy online sessions and the Skype therapy sessions? How long are they both? Which would suit her better? Thanks for your help.

# John 2016-05-02 17:46
Tom,
Thanks for reaching out. Our Skype program works the exact same as an in-clinic visit. We can do a postural analysis, gait analysis, functional testing, etc., and we're able to make any changes to the ecises in real-time. With the Online program, you all would send in four posture photos (front, back, left side, right side), one of our therapists would look at them/analyze them, and would email a menu. The Skype process is more in-depth, and I would recommend that for your wife and her current condition. You can email me at , and I'd be happy to connect you with a therapist.

Thanks,
John

Hello,
Do you think this program could help me? I suffer from RSD/CRPS, Lupus & several other neuro & AI diseases. I also have a severe case of foot drop, and was confined to a wheelchair for @ 4 years. Last Summer my foot specialist said I would probably never walk again, but I chose not to accept that & about a month later I was taking my first steps with a walker in physical therapy. Now I only use my wheelchair if absolutely necessary & usually my family has to do a lot of convincing (sometimes threaten). I can't even stand without special braces, and I may always need braces & a walker or crutches, but we'll see...

Also, do you take health insurance? I can't afford the plans. If not, I'll do my best to find a way to raise funds for it.

Thank you,
Mikki

CAn Egoscue exercises relieve the balance problems, pain, and difficulty in walking caused by radiculopathy, pinching and crunching if nerves in the spine, in lower back? Neurosurgeons claim ONLY spinal surgery can relieve radiculopathy? THank you.

I've read the book "Pain Free" and have begun following the exercises for knee with external rotation.
My fourth day is tomorrow. as I walk I'm trying to keep both knees headed straight forward. It feels odd.
I don't have pain in my right knee but a swelling along with some sciatica and loss of blood flow which one doctor called a Baker's cyst inflammation. Another chiropractor told me looking at a x-ray a month ago that within a year I would be in a lot of pain.
My goal is to recover a healthy right knee first injured in a car accident in '67 at the time repaired by a skillful orthopedic surgeon.

Nicholas,
I'm glad you found the book! One suggestion--don't "try" and walk with your knees straight. That can actually lead to other compensations. Simply do the exercises, and then walk normally. The body will change and fall in line eventually.

Keep moving forward, and keep us posted on your progress!

Thanks,
John

I have had migraines for 40 years. But for the last 10 years they have become crippling and I am basicly an invalid shut in doors. I experience at least 4 - 5 days per week of migraine pain.
They start with intense pain in one shoulder and side of the neck and then move to the head usually lasting at least 3 - 4 days and sometimes 12 days at a time.
And 8 times now I have experienced 10 hours of the most excrutiating pain in which my entire head is in pain and I am blinded. These have felt like I would definitely not survive them.
Up until 6 years ago I taught exercise and yoga and pilates many hours every day. Now I barely have the strength to take short walks.
can this method help me?

My problems all started with pain in my hip flexor a few years back and I could never get right. My therapist just stretches me and my chiro doesn't really help. Massage seems to help but I know I have some movements dysfunction but I just can't figure it out. I will train hard for about 3- months and fought back in the cycle. For me it started with pain below base of back of knock which would shoot down spine when bending forward. A couple months later pain spread to neck shoulder and now he behind ear, all primarily on the right side. It is constant. Neck and head x rays show nothing but pain is terrible.
