Robin Brandimore, Therapist
I'm an Air Force wife and mother of two teenage girls. We are currently living in Colorado Springs., where I work as a fitness instructor and personal trainer at the US Air Force Academy Fitness Center. As a Personal Trainer, I have enjoyed giving clients the tools they need to create a more healthy lifestyle for themselves. Until I found the Egoscue Method, however...I knew I was missing a big part of the picture. My first look at the method was in a P-3 seminar taught by Brian Bradley in Denver. The ideas presented just made sense to me. I bought "Pain Free" and started to realize how much the concepts applied to me...not just my clients. I started to use the e-cises and found relief from Plantar Fasciitis and knee pain that had kept me from running for almost 6 years. I was hooked.
I completed PAS I in May of last year and felt like it made my ability to see postural deviations crystal clear. Like a new set of eyes, but I knew I had only scratched the surface as far as what I still needed to know. I was able to take the knowledge back and began to apply it with my clients. Just the ability to use a short menu before a session to bring their body into a slightly better position, helped tremendously. I completed PAS II in December and learned more than I could have imagined. PAS II helped me to better apply the concepts to clients. To take myself out of the 'expert' or 'healer' role and into the role of a 'translator'. Giving me the ability to help my clients by helping to translate what their pain might be trying to tell them. I also completed one week of coaching in San Diego in December. Coaching really brought everything I had learned in PAS I and II into focus. Observing real experts in the field while they worked with clients helped to bring everything together in a practical way I can use in my own client interaction.
I'm an Egoscue Affiliate in Colorado Springs. I've started to make the transition from personal training into postural therapy and have began to offer the service to clients I see in their homes as well as at the USAFA Fitness Center. I'm excited to learn more as I gain experience working with clients.
