Here's what some of our clients are saying about our Arlington clinic.
I did a 10 mile Hike on the AT up boulders to a place called Hawk Mountain...It was really challenging...anyway, I made it and thought for sure I would be unable to walk the next day...to my surprise, I did gardening all day, dragging things around, raking, etc and had no discomfort...I attribute this all to Egoscue...My hips seem to be aligned and strong and I think this is the reason…just to let you know.

Five years ago I had severe right hip & back pain & right shin splints. In 6 months a medical professional told me I needed orthodics.
My right arch had collapsed. Orthodics helped, but I continued to have some problems (which I won't elaborate), hence the padding and carpeting in my room many of you have seen. Last July I happened to see a book on Amazon.com called "Pain Free" by Pete Egoscue. I bought it, read it, and it made sense. I went to one of their clinics in Virginia last August. After 3 chiropractors, 1 orthopedic surgeon, 1 podiatrist, 1 physical therapist for sprained right ankle, 2 acupuncturists, and my own doctor, x-rays & MRI's, the clinic finally told me what was wrong! My right hip was elevated and tilted forward and my shoulders were slumped. I have been doing their exercises for 9 months. My posture is practically normal, and I JUST GOT MY ARCH BACK! ASK ANY DOCTOR OR PODIATRIST AND THEY WILL TELL YOU ONCE YOU'VE LOST YOUR ARCH, IT WON'T COME BACK. I walked a mile on the beach at Assateague last weekend, no pain. I have been walking barefoot at home for hours, no pain. Now I am dancing barefoot!!!! Egoscue told me last August this would be the last thing that would come back, and it has!
My son, age 14, through screening at school, then the doctor's, then x-rays over the Christmas break, has mild scoliosis. The x-rays from the break showed a 15 degree deviation. I contacted Egoscue and made an appointment and took him at the end of January. But before we went, we went to the Spine Specialist in Westminster, standard procedure, referred by pediatrician. I told him about Egoscue. He said "EXERCISE DOES NOT HELP SCOLIOSIS, only bracing and surgery. Do Nothing. I will see you in 4 months." Scott & I did not buy it. Scott had already taken 3 sets of pictures of me to send to my therapist via email at Egoscue to get new exercises, and he had seen my improvement. Knowing that they start bracing at 25 degrees, Scott started doing exercises (skipping many days) 3 ˝ months ago. New x-rays taken 2 weeks ago show an improvement. He now has an 11 degree deviation, instead of 15 degrees. He may be part of a study The University of California is doing comparing scoliosis patients who do Egoscue and those who don't.
Egoscue is a holistic approach of looking at your entire posture. "Muscles control bones" and you can reprogram your muscles to do what they are suppose to do. For more information go to www.egoscue.com. The books I read are: "Pain Free" and "The Egoscue Method of Health through Motion". Jack Nickolas also had a hip descrepancy 17 years ago and went to Pete Egoscue in desperation when all his doctors said he had to have back surgery.
